Patina is our name for interior concrete coloring in all its forms — reactive stain, dye, and integral pigment, worked in layers rather than rolled on flat. Paint hides concrete. Patina colors it, so what you get is a range of tone shifting across the slab like stone: deeper in one light, warmer in another.
It works two ways. As the color layer on a Velluto, Aria, or Cascina installation, it sets the character of the whole surface. On its own, over concrete you already have, it is the move that turns a grey slab into the best-looking floor in the house.
Because reactive color responds to the slab it touches, this is judgment work. Knowing when to layer, when to dilute, and when to stop is the difference between depth and blotch. It is why we sample on your concrete, not on a brochure.

We can work toward a target, and we sample on your own slab so you see the real result before we schedule. Reactive color responds to the concrete underneath it, so a sample on your floor tells the truth in a way a brochure chip cannot.
No, and that is the point. Patina produces a range of tone that shifts across the slab like stone. If you want a single flat color with no variation, say so at the consultation and we will steer you to a different finish.
We do, but not through this studio. Exterior concrete coloring lives with Craftman Concrete, where the pigments, sealers, and surface texture are specified for sun, pool chemistry, and freeze-thaw.
