The Finish
A plank pattern stenciled by hand into the cement, then textured with real wood grain. From across the room it reads as reclaimed wood. Underfoot, it is a sealed mineral surface that shrugs off water, claws, and traffic.
Cascina starts the same way our other finishes do — a cement build coat bonded to your existing slab. The difference is what happens next: we lay out each plank by hand, stencil the board lines, and work grain texture into every one before color and seal. No two planks repeat, because no two are made from the same pass of the trowel.
The result is the farmhouse look without wood's weaknesses. Nothing to warp, cup, or gap. No refinishing cycle. A surface that handles a wet dog and a dropped skillet the same way it handles a decade.
Cascina is the one finish in our studio that goes outside, and only on covered or otherwise protected slabs. Driveways, pool decks, and open patios are handled by Craftman Concrete.
The same process as every Craftman finish: design consultation and measurements, a physical sample in your chosen plank color before anything goes on the calendar, a written room-by-room schedule, and a sealed handoff with a care walkthrough. Every inquiry is answered the same business day.
Tile arrives with a printed pattern that repeats every few boards, and it brings grout lines with it. Cascina is built on site: we lay out and stencil each plank by hand, so the boards never repeat and there is no grout to clean.
Yes. Covered and screened porches are one of the best places for it — the slab is protected from standing weather, and the finish gives you the look of a plank porch floor without wood's maintenance. Open, uncovered slabs are handled by Craftman Concrete instead.
Color is mixed to order, from pale white oak through walnut and weathered grey. Bring a flooring sample, a cabinet door, or a photograph and we will build a physical sample on your slab before anything goes on the calendar.
Sweep or vacuum, then damp mop with a neutral cleaner. There is no refinishing cycle and no board to cup or gap. We review care in person at handoff and leave written instructions.
Tell us about the room — or the whole house — and what you want it to feel like. You'll hear back the same business day.
